Turning Corners Plus offers a confidential and impartial information, advice and guidance service to anyone looking for work, seeking guidance in choosing a career path or seeking training opportunities that match their interests, skills and abilities or training needs. This service aims to help you make informed decisions on your next step and then plan for the long-term future.

- Careers information, advice and guidance – helping you to plan what you need to do to get the job you want.
- Structured job search – jobs you can apply for now.
- A professional CV.
- Assistance completing application forms.
- Interview techniques - linked to the jobs you are applying for.
- Mock Interviews.
- Confidence building and self-marketing – helping you to sell yourself and your abilities to employers.
- Action Plan – to help you plan for your future.
- Funded Training and Workshops – to help you acquire skills and qualifications in certain professions.
- Job Club – access to IT , stationery and telephones for job seeking activities.
- Financial Support – for interview needs.
- Adult Directions Software.
- Benefit Advice – to resolve barriers in the way of achieving your goals.
- Referrals - We do not offer a job vacancy service or detailed information on careers, but will give you details of where you can go and how to research the information.

Where we are unable to offer what you require we will give you information on other appropriate providers or guidance agencies, or contact them on your behalf.

Information on careers and courses at local institutions is available in Turning Corners.
What you can expect
- One to one guidance from experienced and competent staff with a wide range of qualifications and background; based on respect for you as an individual and your career choices.
- Confidentiality – all information you provide will be confidential within Turning Corners (there are exceptions to this which will be discussed with you at your first meeting).
- Objective, independent and impartial advice and guidance matched to your individual circumstances.
- Voluntary- signing with us is your choice.
- If we need to cancel an appointment that you have booked we will phone you with as much notice as possible to rearrange the appointment at a mutually convenient time as soon as possible after the original date.
What we expect from you
- To attend booked appointment or let us know if you want to cancel or rearrange.
- Come prepared for an interview with the Careers Adviser. Think about ideas you have already had and what you want to find out. If may be useful to write a list of questions to ask the adviser.
- Follow the information and advice you have been given.
- To conduct yourself in an appropriate manner always.
- To keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on.
- Tell us if you need any more help.
- Complete our client feedback questionnaire to help us evaluate and improve our services. We welcome your comments whether you are satisfied or not. If you are not satisfied you can ask about our complaints procedure.

Support available for those who need help using the service
- There is wheelchair access to the Information, Advice and Guidance Centre.

If you have a hearing impairment we have access to a hearing loop. Please let us know in plenty of time if you require this service, as we need to make arrangements in advance.
- If English is not your first language we will connect you to a free phone number for careers advice and guidance.
- If there are other forms of support which you require, please let us know and we will do our best to help.
