Putting Marsh Farm Youth Forum on the regional map
The Marsh Farm Young Advisors were put firmly on the map recently when they hosted and participated in a key conference for those who work with young people across the region.
The conference, organised by the National Young Advisors Charity, was facilitated by the national coordinator Jane Booker Wood, her assistant Michelle Tatton and two of the Trust’s Young Advisors from the Marsh Farm Youth Forum Courtney Manning and Umar Hussain.
People from all over the eastern region attended, alongside people from Haringey, Derby and Leicester to share good practice and learn more about the duty to involve.
The Marsh Farm Youth Forum’s successes were heavily discussed amongst the youth professionals who wanted to hear about:
- ability to engage large numbers of diverse young people
- how to retain youth members
- training and support received
- views of working with adults and professionals,
- lessons can be taken back to their towns and communities
Montell Neufville the Partnership Manager at the Trust said: “This is the biggest youth conference we’ve ever had in Marsh Farm. The professionals who came from youth services, Police, housing associations and the voluntary sector were all very impressed. This has put the Marsh Farm Youth Forum firmly on the regional map.
