Current Projects
Community Warden Scheme
The five community wardens, supervisor and administrator will help to make Marsh Farm a cleaner, greener and safer environment. They will be uniformed working alongside the Street Services and Community Policing teams to reduce incidents of anti-social behaviour e.g. graffiti, and fly tipping.
Police Community Support Officers (PSCO’s)
The Trust funds three PCSO’s in Marsh Farm. They work in the community offering advice, reassurance and support to residents who may need it. PSCO’s are also working closely with schools to build relationships with young people and offer crime prevention advice.
Cop Shop
In recent surveys residents said a greater police presence would make them feel safer. We listened and a Cop Shop will be set up in the Purley Centre, Marsh Farm, to act as a base for the North Area Police Team.
Crime and Disorder Initiatives
The Trust will provide various safety initiatives to help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the areas highlighted by residents in the recent crime and disorder survey.
Crime Analyst
The Trust part funds a crime analyst to identify levels of crime and anti-social behaviour. The analyst will provide detailed statistics that will help the work of the Trust and be a vital tool in the work of the Crime theme.
Service Level Agreement
Local residents have told Bedfordshire Police what their priorities are for policing the local area. An action plan has been drawn up and the Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG) meets on the first Wednesday of each month to discuss what the Police have done and any new areas of concern. If you would like to join the NAG, call Sharon Buckingham on 01582 512555.
