Marsh Farm Children’s Centre

The Children’s Centre is based in Marsh Farm and has a 62-place nursery for children aged 0-5. There are also crèche and drop-in facilities.  Parents can access secure and affordable services.

GCSE Achievement Award

The Trust funds a cash award of £200 for students at Lea Manor High who achieve 5 GSCE A* - C grades and excellent achievements.  Last year the school achieved their best ever GCSE results. 

 

Teachers Recruitments, Retention and Career Development Programme

This project funds local residents to train to become qualified teachers. Once qualified the aim is that the teachers work in Marsh Farm schools. This year two local residents gained their PGCE qualification.

 

Achievement Centred Transmission (ACT)

The Trust funds a home tuition project to give extra support in Maths, English and Science to pupils in Marsh Farm. ACT aims to create a home learning culture that will increase student’s achievement potential.

 

After School Club

This project provides after school support for pupils of Whitefield Infant School in literacy, numeracy and ICT.

 

Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club is currently being piloted at Whitefield Junior School. The pupil socialises and prepares themselves for the classroom activities in time. This allows working parents get off to work by dropping their children off at the Club.

 

Education Welfare Officer (EWO)

The EWO is based in Waulud Primary School and has been instrumental in increasing attendance levels and reducing truancy in Marsh Farm Schools.  Currently a computerised ‘Truancy Call’ system is running at Lea Manor High school.

 

Transition and Intervention Trailblazer

This project tracks the performance of pupils as they make the transition between Key Stages, year groups and schools.

 

Marsh Farm Bursary Fund

The Bursary Fund helps to support residents aged 16+ into employment and higher education. The bursary can be used to:

- Pay tuition fees
- Purchase resources
- Meet travel costs

- Meet childcare costs
