Marsh Farm - Master Plan
What is the plan?
The Master Plan outlines the changes that will happen in Marsh Farm over the next 5 years to improve the environment. It shows how Marsh Farm will develop over time and where the changes will take place.

The NDC area has been split into 14 Character Area and Environmental Design Teams set up across the estate, to ensure that the right improvements happen in the right areas.

Local residents views were used to develop the Master Plan. Views were put forward at open days, fun days, using questionnaires and at local drop in sessions.
Goal: 1 Creating safer environments by improving:
- Pedestrian walkways
- Footpaths
- Underpasses
- Street lighting
- Alleyways
- Safer car parking
- Connection of green spaces
- Creation of local ‘pocket parks’
Goal: 2 Maximising our heritage opportunities by:
- Refurbishing Marsh House for community use
- Improving access to the River Lea and surrounding areas
- Underpasses
- Improving riverside walkways, woodlands, views and seating
- Improving lighting
- Improving links to Leagrave Railway Station
Goal: 3 Creating a vibrant new centre by:
- Redeveloping the Purley Centre to provide better shopping and market
- Providing a centre which is user friendly, easy to reach and pleasant to walk around, with a range of good quality shops.
- Providing new mixed tenure homes ranging from affordable rent and shared ownership, to private owner occupied accommodation
Goal: 4 Improving community facilities by redeveloping or refurbishing the CERC to provide:
- Community meeting places and social centre
- Library
- Health facilities
- Offices
- Work Spaces
- Housing opportunities
